Mt Barker United Soccer Club is delighted to announce that Stacey Beddow will take on the role of Women’s Coaching Coordinator for the club. Stacey is very passionate about women’s soccer in the Adelaide Hills. Her desire to create an environment where local players can develop their game enabling them and the club to compete at the highest level, lines up perfectly our vision.
.
Stacey started playing when she was 8 and played mixed for several years until she was old enough to join the Women’s league. By the age of 13 she’d earned selection for South Australia. After she hung up her boots she thought that was it, but her eldest son started playing for Strathalbyn under 8s in the AHJSA which was the catalyst to start coaching.
.
She coached him from under 8s through to U14’s and along the way became involved in the AHJSA Rep program coaching the under 13 and under 16 girls squads.
.
Stacey then got her first taste of coaching in the FFSA JPL with the Mt Barker under 12 team in 2017, whilst still coaching at Strathalbyn and also began coaching the FFSA U13g State Identification Program (SIP) squad.
.
In 2018 she headed north to spend 12 months with family in Queensland, but the coaching bug had bitten and soon found herself coaching a team in for Football Brisbane in the Community State Cup Championships in Mackay.  Also whilst in Queensland she coached an U12d mixed squad in the BYPL, a similar level to the AHJSA.
.
Back in Adelaide for 2019, she picked up where she left off and also added the Strathalbyn Women’s team to her coaching commitments.
.
Currently making the most of an unfortunate break from coaching Stacey has kept involved planning for her new role at Mt Barker United. Along with helping the club set up it’s female JPL program, where she’ll coach the under 17s, she’s helping Coaching Director Mark McGrath with overhauling the entire junior development program starting with the development squads, through the AHJSA, to JPL and hopefully on to the seniors both male and female.
.
Mt Barker United is truly excited to welcome Stacey and look forward to watching our players progress under her guidance.
.

Welcome Stacey Beddow – Women’s Coaching Coordinator
