History Makers, Honouring our Legacy
While we celebrate the successes and growth of Mt Barker United today, it is the triumphs, dedication, and unwavering spirit of the past that built the foundation we proudly stand on. Every goal scored, every jersey worn, and every cheer from the sidelines has played a part in shaping the identity of our club.
This page is a heartfelt tribute to the players who gave their all on the pitch, the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and the countless individuals whose passion and commitment helped forge our legacy. Their stories, sacrifices, and achievements continue to inspire future generations, and it is through remembering them that we stay grounded in who we are.
Mt Barker United is more than a soccer club — it is a community, a history, and a shared journey that continues to evolve. This is where we honour the path that brought us here.

Collegiate Soccer League
Community Mens
Those motivated to play high-level senior football will be drawn to our NPLSA State League squads – u18, Reserves and ggTeam.
Seen as the natural progression from our JPL pathway, the u18s squad is the launchpad to senior football. As the player starts their senior football journey they will learn competition for spots increases and game time isn’t guaranteed but earned and whilst tenure counts and helps building a bonded, cohesive group, ability, determination and commitment are also important factors in selecting squads at this level. Bringing in talent to improve the group from other clubs also creates healthy competition for positions, which is required to build sustained success and progression to higher leagues.
The players are semi-professionals, or part-time footballers at this level, but a number of the elements of professional full-time football are introduced to enable the player to be the best they can be. High performance practices such as nutrition plans, strength and conditioning programs as well as game and training video analysis are all utilised at this level.
The players also have access to the club Physio and other medical professionals through club arrangements to ensure they stay healthy both physically and mentally.
Whilst expectations are high for players at this level, the club aims to make it enjoyably serious.

Womens and Girls
The Mt Barker United SC Community Men’s group has a place for everyone – regardless of age, skill or fitness level.
The club currently has four Community Men’s teams who compete in the Collegiate Soccer League on Saturdays, but is always looking to expand as numbers demand. You can be as competitive or relaxed as you like, training once a week there is a group that fits your needs. All squads are well coached by club legends, operating out of the state-of-the-art Summit Sports & Recreation Park, with the latest training equipment including video analysis using Veo camera technology. Of course, it’s not all analysis the footage can be used to cut together a pretty cool highlights package too.
All games are played with a great spirit at a good level with a number of the players having played at a high level in the past, so by the end of the game you will have earned your post-game refreshments.
If you’re a Should-have-been, Could-have-been, Want-to-be, Has-been or Time-poor Young Pro looking to play football in a seriously enjoyable environment the Mt Barker United SC Community Men’s Program is where you need to be.
