Mt Barker United Named Club Changer “Club of the Month”
Football South Australia have announced that we have been named the Football Australia Club Changer Club of the Month for April 2025.
President of Mt Barker United Soccer Club, Natasha Raven, said that;
‘Utilising the Club Changer Program has helped us as a club support the Women and Girls by implementing programs to help develop and recognise achievement within our teams. Going through the 2 star process has allowed us to create clear plans and strategies to further develop our club. It has helped us direct the girls and ladies in a positive environment and by doing this, we have a strong young adult women’s team who understand and support each other on field, as well as a board that supports them off field.”
Football Australia introduced the Club Changer Program a few years ago and the Mt Barker United Soccer Club has been working hard from the start to progress through the program to make changes and grow to facilitate the needs of the community and the club.
Club Changer, Football Australia’s Club Development Program aims to protect and enhance clubs, to make them stronger and more resilient, to lead them in building welcoming and inclusive cultures and to educate them on positive environments for players, coaches, volunteers, and officials whilst planning for long term viability and success.
Some of the main pillars for the program include:
- LEAD
- To lead community clubs in identifying key priority areas for improvement, spark action for positive change and invest in long term sustainable practices for future success.
- EMPOWER
- To empower community clubs to strategically plan to increase capacity and participation growth, through education, resources, and transfer of knowledge.
- SUPPORT
- To support community clubs in creating inclusive and welcoming environments for women and girls in all aspects of the game.
- CELEBRATE
- To acknowledge and celebrate clubs who are investing in the development and future of their football community.
Through the leadership of Sarah Kerezsi the club has been awarded Level 1 and 2 status, one of only a few clubs to achieve this status to date in South Australia.
A proud moment for the club and this is only the beginning for what we can achieve!
